The following paragraph was written by one of our learners in partial completion of Laubach book 4. The question he responded to was. “Which story in Book 4 did I like best and why?” The story and the person that inspired me was: “George Washington Carver—From Slave to Scientist.” George Washington Carver was the son of a slave, and he overcame all the walls that life put in front of him. He was a student, a teacher, and a great scientist. He provided many solutions with the use of peanuts. George Washington Carver took advantage of the barriers life gave him very well. The story inspired me, that in life all things can be possible. We can overcome the social, the communicational, and the cultural walls to achieve our goals. By YM
